Now that we have broken through the threshold of a new year, just what personal goals do you have for this Golfing season?

Share them with everyone and we too may have to move the bar up a notch or so! ;) ;) Next year you can come back and see how you did!

My Goals, in no specific order:

1. Work on playing consistently
2. Improve GIR's
3. Improve and firm up iron and wedge game
4. Have a few total round scores that start with the number 7
5. Avoid any triple digit round scores, even on vacations

Just a note.......please don't be critical of anyone here, it would be nice to see everyone set goals and then exceed them!

1. Get back to playing more.
2. Need to improve on the "3" wood. Use to be a go to club, but have lost a little there.
3. "Concentrate" on the "Putt",,,,, Have taken to many for granted and ended up with a 3 putt.

1. Play more golf.
2. Enjoy each round for what it is. The opportunity to spend time on the course, either alone, with friends or with people who don't realize we're friends yet.
3. Focus less on the results of each shot. Know that I made my best effort to hit a good shot and that sometimes "Shit Happens".
4. Make at least one "Golf" trip, somewhere.
5. Have as much fun as possible.

Later,

For a couple of years my goal was to get back to a single-digit index. Late last summer, I made it and was playing good, consistent golf. By the end of summer and into the fall, my game went on vacation! I became inconsistent and my index went back up!
My goal for this year is once again to return to a single-digit index. I plan on doing that by:

1. Practicing my weaknesses more
2. Playing more
3. Getting regular "checkups" by my pro.

I have always enjoyed every round I've played (some more than others, of course) ;) and I still intend to, but I also want to reach that goal and stay there for as long as I can.

I have much the same goals as GA1..............my game was a bit lackluster in 2008.
I need to hit more greens and keep my focus going on every shot. I don't take golf as seriously as i once did , so i tend to lose some of that competitive focus that one needs to make a decent score.

Golf is hard. It takes practice and determination to hit many more good shots than bad. My bad low back makes it difficult to practice as much as i would like and has sapped my distance. My putting and short game saves my arse most days , but it's not fun to always have to get it up and down from in front of greens i once reached with ease. I had some days of solid ballstriking ; so i still have a shred of hope that i can get some distance back in my game. I have HOPE..........that a CHANGE in my game will come in 2009. I may even take a lesson................or get fitted for something. Bob is sure to be impressed if i get fitted for something ! :D

I didn't carry an official handicap ; but used one of those online handicap trackers and finished at 10. something. I only broke 80 twice all season , but managed to play consistently mediocre golf most of the year . I may be the king of 84..............i shot 84 in wind , rain , heat , and cold. If i started the round well.....i shot 84. If i started the round bad......i shot 84. Just pencil it in.........84.
SO.............i got THAT goin for me. :)
