DeepRough: There is no 'point' to the threads; yhe whole thing is simply an exercise. For years, many discussion boards, grill room discussions, etc., speculated on just how much money a golfer could make if he / she could simply shoot par on every hole all year long. Finally a board member named HoganRadial did just that, and we got to see that in the case of a PGA Tour player, the variability of weather on tour can make the difference between a player keeping his card & failing to do so. I then expanded the theme to checking the Nationwide, European, and LPGA Tours. After HoganRadial died I picked up the mantle and have continued it ever since.
The simple conclusions are this: PGA Tour depends on the weather early in the season (West Coast & Florida swings). European Tour is probably going to keep his card, but not by a wide margin, and makes about 2/3 of his American cousin. Nationwide Tour has no chance, he can't even pay his expenses. LPGA Tour is almost always in the top 25, in part because she always qualifies for the majors with their higher purses.
If there are any other questions I can answer please send them my way.

Tuesday afternoon update. Senor Par cashed another nice check, but it wasn't enough to make the field in Dubai. He ends his year in 71st place on the Order of Merit, so his card for the 2012 season is secure.

I haven't looked at this year's results, but IIRC par is never good enough for the third stage. Our 2012 PGA Tour Parshooter will once again rely on a magic card to get him in the full field events.
