December 24th
On Christmas Day, 1875.............
Tom Morris, Jr. (20 April 1851 – 25 December 1875) otherwise known as "Young Tom Morris" was one of the pioneers of professional golf.
In a match play in September 1875 between Old and Young Tom and Willie and Mungo Park, Young Tom received a telegram that his pregnant wife, Margaret Drinnen, had suddenly got very sick. Old Tom and Young Tom hurried home but when Young Tom got there his wife and newborn baby were dead. Young Tom never got over this, and he died on Christmas day the same year.

A good book to read is Tommy's Honor, it gives your the full story of Young Tom and Old Tom Morris' life. I read it about a year ago and really enjoyed it.

It is sad, didn't really want to post that on Christmas Day.
Tommy's Honor is a great read, once you start, you don't want to put it down. When I checked the title to make sure it was correct, I ordered TWO MORE Golf Books!

Good you are ordering more books, keep Amazon profitable Have read quite a bit about both of them in magazine articles but probably not to the depth of a book.
