In the world of GOLF we have the PGA Playoffs. While somewhat contrived this is , none the less , a fairly interesting time of year. The big news this year has to be the continuing extremely average play of Tiger Woods. He is undergoing yet ANOTHER swing change , so we don't know what to expect there. I think he's using it as a crutch to explain the fact that he has lost his mojo. Then there's Phil.........a guy who suddenly can't play dead. In fact.........who the hell IS playing well ? Matt Kucher.....that's who !!! Stricker has been hanging around and there are even signs of life from Adam Scott ...who has come back from golf limbo lately. There are a host of guys hitting it 340 and then shooting 79 on Sunday. When you think of it...............there is really no group of top players to take over in Tiger's absence from the leaderboard . Lot's of young guys being talked about , but are any of them going to REALLY be great players. I like hardluck Dustin Johnson and even Ricky Fowler , but fer cryin out loud .....get rid of those stupid hats and no more highway cone orange !!! OKAY...you went to Oklahoma ! Who the F cares !!!!!
It's anyones ballgame right now......but we really need bigtime players with some personality and the ability to WIN big tournaments.

U.S. Open TENNIS is being played this week. I played tennis fairly seriously years ago and still have interest in the sport. This is always an interesting tournament . Federer and Nadal are both tremendous tennis players who move around the court as well as anyone in the history of the game. A final involving these two will be a real treat , if it comes to pass. The American men are not what they were in my heyday.....geez....i have a heyday. Andy Roddick is a guy with a big serve , but no ability to read his opponent. Andy.....hit it somewhere other than right back at him ! He's also a sorehead at times. He made an ass out of himself this year with that footfault tantrum. Andy....you need to WIN if you are going to throw tantrums ! We have Mardy Fish and that big 6'9" guy....Isner. They are pretty good , but not in Federer and Nadal's league.

On the women's side we have a host of Russian chicks . All of them are really boring except that one blonde who screams when she hits the ball. She's a real screamer and she's like six two.....hmmmmmmmmm. We are much better here with the Williams sisters . They are part-time tennis players who are pretty much better than everyone else. Now , on the scene , we have Caroline Wozniacki . I thought she was from Scranton , PA ; but she may be some kind of Transylvanian or something . She is a very good player and not at all hard to look at..........both qualifications high on my list for women tennis players. Kim Cljisters is also in the semis, as is our Venus and one of the "evas" or "ovas."

Anyway...i'm watching , so that's one of us.

FUUUUBALL....are you ready for some fuuuball. Fall is football time. I don't really watch college football , but i follow the NFL ....or, at least , the Broncos. The Broncos look to be really bad this year. Their ballboy coach should be tarred and feathered by Thanksgiving and we will probably be coached by some retread who could not get a job anyplace else. Now that i predicted this rosey scenario ; they will probably win every damn game.

I noticed the two teams in last nights game came out on the field and exchanged solidarity gestures in regards to a possible strike next season. It seems ....there are not enough tens of millions of dollars to go around for these guys. The fact that they have priced out many ACTUAL fans and sell most of their season tickets to corporations so they can write off the seats as business expenses makes no impression on these greedy bastards. I don't care if they ever play another game. My interest has waned to the point where i really don't care if they play NFL ball or not. Folks are out of work...taking pay cuts...losing their houses....paying too much for EVERYTHING....and we are supposed to worry about how many hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars they can sign for ??? Not bloody likely ! FRUCK EM. Bring back .....He Hate Me...greatest player of all time !

SOCCER.............yeah right.

How bout CRICKET ? Makes soccer sound pretty good.

BASEBALL.....i love baseball . Baseball has been interesting this season. The Cubs are bad again. That arsehole Manny Ramirez has been traded back to the American league......poor Whitesox. I'm a National league fan. The Rockies have won 7 in a row and making a run at the West title. I like baseball because you can watch a few innings or even fall asleep for most of the game and still enjoy it. The manager doesn't stand in the fricken dugout with one of those stupid headsets on .....like he's trying to solve the molecular interaction of neutron nanoparticles with dark matter.....or somethin. He just stands over there with a leg up , chewing tobacco and scratching his crotch every so often. He is usually a bit paunchy in his uniform , but he's not striding back and forth looking at a giant playsheet , while the guy doing the game tells you how the offense is so intricate it will be december before anyone knows where to line up. Everyone seems equally impressed by this relevation except the players who are running around in a panic while the quarterback points out where they should be before he gets sacked.
Give me some baseball ...situations....longball...smallball....playball.

Basketball....almost forgot. I really don't like basketball anymore. The players are the biggest asswipes on the planet. I have almost nothing good to say about basketball. I like a good highschool game every now and then.

Hockey...offseason...i am currently on the shelf. My bad knee has become much too bad to continue playing hockey. I will need surgery to repair my knee this winter if i want to continue. I can play golf on the knee. I love fall golf ; so i'll play this fall and then .....probably get the knee fixed. I hate to be layed up.........i might have to watch basketball if i'm layed up or put on a headset and come up with a new way to hand a ball off to guy while other guys push on their giant counterparts hard enough to go seven or eight yards..........it's really complcated ya know.

That's The Sports Report for now. Read it. Post something. Keep this site alive. We are dying........do it for The Obama.

Wow, finally a sports cast I can relate to. But an error there, I believe it is OK St, ( or t bone pickens favorite tax write off) that is orange.
You can bet on this, that the Bungals were right that Houshmouthmoney can destroy a team. They went up seattle went DOWN. Since he is with the Ravens now, they have no hope of winning.
At least up here I get canadian broadcasts of hockey, haven't watched those hoodlems in 2 years.

First golf - Yes, Phil is playing just as erratic as Tiger. Who knows how he feels day to day. To me Tiger is obviously working on many facets of his swing and should be expected to be erratic. The announcers are showing me plain as day what he is working on. :) No way is he using it as a crutch. His Mojo is there and will be there when the swing is ready. :)
It's good to see a group of young guns, it is much needed for the game. Only time will tell how they handle a Tiger whose game is back to were it should be. I think we will find that out next year.

Tennis: Not really interested. If I like the hotness factor of the women player I will watch or if there is a marathon match that takes three days to finish.

Soccer: No comment

Basketball: I have not watched much basketball since MJ retired from the Bulls for good. It was tremendous seeing your team win championships 6 out of 8 years while watching the greatest player. It was all good that I overlooked all of the underlying problems of the sport on the professional level. A bunch of overpriced egomaniac jerks who call the shots on where they play and who they play with.

Hockey: Not that much of a hockey fan, but I was into last year thanks to the World Champion Blackhawks. It was a fun time watching that team. I was sort of bummed out over the summer on how many people they let go because of the team salary problems.

Football: Same as you, I don't really watch College football. I watch the NFl (Bears) . I don't really have time to watch other games. It's not like it was when I was younger and would watch football all day Sunday. I wanted to take my daughter to the Bears game on Sunday, but I can't find any ticket's under $125.00 a piece and these are the worst seats in the house. Sorry, I'm not going to dish out that kind of money for lousy seats for a game versus a lousy opponent.(Lions)

Could easily happen. No one around here are really sure how bad this offensive line of the Bears can pass protect. In this Martz offense it is VITAl to protect Cutler and his 7 step drop. :) Did not look pretty in the preseason. Also, the Bears secondary has the potential to be brutal.

Cutler has a tendancy to throw a few picks too. So far that pick is looking good.
