The results of my club's championship, played the weekend before Memorial Day, compel me to ask a question of all my McDivot comrades. Who out there has the oldest club champ? We've all heard of the teenage kid who is just so good that he wins the trophy, but we went in the opposite direction. Our newly crowned champ is an even par 72, and congratulations to him! http://www.holidaygolfclub.com/events/club-championship

Since no club would have me, can't quite answer that. But the league I was in, I won the season long competition at 61.

I won our club championship in back to back years at ages 53/54...BUT....a recent champ (last year I believe) was 62.

Ah Rich, I knew you liked your golf but had no idea how much game you had. Good job.

Some of the best guys in this neck of the woods are in their 50's and 60's . You don't want to get in the senior division of most local tournaments unless you can shoot mid to low seventies or below.
I'm playing my best golf ever at 56 this year. Weird game....hard game....great game. Hello to Bagger Vance. Good to have you in here .

That's fantastic Steve. I have come back from the dead the last two years. Somehow rebuilt my game on the range and finally able to go out and get it around in some kind of decent manner. It's a strange old game........as Peter Alliss is fond of pointing out.

congrats on that 79. My lowest ever is a 76 (Kevin will understand my username at Jock$tocks with that info). I have to say...the most competetive guys in the club championships and other matches....are older guys. I honestly believe it has alot to do with the fact that as we age...we finally realize that straight and shorter is better than crooked and longer. Couple that with the fact that we're going to hit fewer greens and therefore become better chippers by neccessity.
