The 2009 schedule released Wednesday by the L.P.G.A.'s commissioner, Carolyn Bivens, showed the anticipated net losses of three tournaments and $5 million in prize money, as well as some unresolved issues. But there was a sense of relief among players and officials that the news was not worse. The 2009 schedule has been pared to 31 events, including 11 outside the United States. Players will compete for an average of $1.76 million per event, slightly down from this year. The schedule is not without uncertainties. Some events were moved from their 2008 slots, and others changed sponsors. Some significant details ??? the purse amount for the April 16 Ginn Open, the tournament site for the Sept. 17 Samsung World Championship, and the golf course for the Oct. 23 China L.P.G.A. ??? have not been resolved.

I think 2010 will be the year that a "lot" of change is seen in Golf. Both PGA and LPGA.

The Major league sports need a financial wake-up call. Won't hurt at all for them to get fed a little reality ....just like the rest of us.
