It seems like forever instead of a year, but it's only about 48 hours to the first tee time at The Masters.

There are several good stories out there. Tiger is back, Anthony Kim is playing his first, Norman is back to give it a shot and playing pretty well, and there's Phil who could do anything.

I'm looking forward to it and "should" be able to watch every minute of it. I hope all of you are equally as lucky.

We are going to Debs parents for Thursday and Friday driving back Saturday. I have the HDTV reserved for Sunday.
I hope to catch some of the first three but definitely will be watching the final. Sunday afternoon when the greens are fast and the nerves are frayed is, IMO, the best golf on television.
Can't wait to see who can "Kick it up a notch".

Later,

You are both right...........a lot of "good" stories there, but aren't there always????? I was lucky enough two years ago to get tickets to the practice rounds of Tuesday and Wednesday...............I saw Jack, Arnie and Gary play the par 3. We were on the third hole right at the ropes and it was a ball! Let me tell you, TV does not do that place justice! Another thing, it looks pretty flat, there is not a level piece of ground anywhere! What a fun two days, I can't wait for it to start!

I got to go to practice rounds on Tuesday in 1999 and 2001.
You're right, Tv definitely does not do it justice, but I can't wait to see the HD this year.
In 1999 they still had the no rough, shorter course. The fairways were better than most greens I've seen. I was standing by #2 green, the only person there and Tom Watson hit his shot right next to me. He came up to the ball, looked at me and said "You've got to love the rough here." Then he proceeded to knock his pitch shot about 2' from the hole. I just said "Damned rough" and he laughed. I said "Good Luck this week" and he said "Thank You". Seemed like a pretty nice guy.
In 2001 I took Deb with me and we both had a blast. What they were calling rough we call fairway cut around here. :-}
Just the most immaculate course I've ever seen, it's flat out beautiful.

It's nice to see GA took some time away from his moderatin to make a post.
Masters week........i hope the weather will hold up and they took care of all those bare patches on the greens. :)

Looking for a young guy , an old guy , or somebody in between to come through with a thrilling win. How about Rory Mcilroy and Greg Norman sharing the lead on the final nine holes with Tiger and Phil lurking , and Couples , Els , Harrington , Boo , Rocco , and Sergio all in the mix.
From out of nowhere Ernie makes a couple of eagles , but finishes second to Norman.....who hangs in and birdies the last three holes to win!!! Tiger fades down the stretch and never wins another major...........Rory finishes third and finally gets a haircut.....Couples finishes fourth , but meets another good looking gal among the patrons and marries her..........Phil shoots 45 on the final nine holes , but tells everyone he feels really good about his game......Harrington finishes fifth...ehhhhhhhhhhhhh..........Boo loses concentration down the stretch when he sees some fish jump in the pond on 16..........Rocco plays well , but blames some late bogeys on his pants riding up into his armpits.......Sergio blames his poor putting on those girls he woke up with .......and Gary Player makes the cut in his final Masters and does 2,000 situps on the final green before an adoring crowd.

Masters week...........enjoy.

JJ

GA.....sorry about that Tiger crack.....i like to antagonize you. :)

Great story, JJ. No problem with the Tiger crack.

I would LOVE to see Norman in the mix come Sunday.

Some great scenarios there, JJ. Love 'em all (except the Tiger one, of course). How could that happen to a golf God?

If I was a betting man,I couldn't bet against Tiger.

The 365,000,000/1 odds on Gary Player beating Tiger in a playoff is quite interesting. You could lay down 5 bucks and be an instant billionaire if there was a chance of it happening.

My pick for this one,if not Tiger, would be Paul Casey.Harrington seems like a good choice too,but with Tiger in the field,it seems unlikely that he could win his third major in a row.
