Well first Golf Central tonight.............kinda the same old show.........was hoping for some changes. They did state they have a new sponsor for the show, Titliest, so I'm sure that will help with the identity factor for this show. They did say unless interrupted by tournament play this was the new time slot, 6pm and 11:30 eastern.

Well, Golf Central is off the air until January 5th at 6:00pm eastern. The first tournament starts on the 8th, so it will be interesting to see what changes TGC has in store for us, and if they try to shed the "Mickey Mouse" operation image.

I caught Golf Central today. They were lamenting the absence of the top four players from the Mercedes. Of course, Tiger won't be there , but the next three top players ...............i can't even remember who they are now........uhhhhhh... I think......Sergio , Padraig , and Mickelson.....yeah dats it ! Sergio is chasing that billion dollar Dubai thing , Padraig would rather stay home and drink Guinness , and Phil thinks if he stays away ....it makes him look like a bigshot player kind of guy.

I say.....who the fluke cares if those guys are not there.........except for Tiger of course ! They were actually calling them the "Big Four" on Golf Central.............puhhhhleeeeze. There is NO big four in golf. There is Tiger and everybody else. Brandel Chamblee went on to say that they should change the venue. TO WHAT Brandel ??? Of course , he explained that it was a good golf course , but didn't have what it takes for the field or something. The main problem is the fact that they are ONLY playing for 5.5 million and that's not enough incentive for da really "fat" talent to leave their crib to present........actually....he didn't use those words , but i'm taking a course in post modern ebonics and i figure the more i use it ; the faster i'll learn. :)

Anyway......the course sucks and the money sucks....so the "Big Four" is not there....except for Tiger , who is injured , but would not be there anyway ......even if he were healthy. The rest of those losers who WILL be there are so uninteresting as to barely produce a collective stifled yawn from us golf fans. Well ....i'm kind of interested and i enjoy the venue for the beauty and golf it produces. If the winner only makes a lousy 900 grand or so.........well , i guess we will all have to live with that. The REAL action will be over on the Arabian Penninsula , where the gallery consists mostly of rich guys hiding from various tax men and guys in robes who look mysteriously like Osama. Of course ; you have all that wonderful scenery......if you like dead flat sand for miles..........and the girl watching .......geez ; did ya see the robe on that one ! .....is much better than that lousy Hawaii. Then , there is always the chance you'll be kidnapped and beheaded ! You can't beat that for adventure travel !

But.....i digress. Brandel went on to lament the fact that we won't see Tiger until the week before the Masters or so. Golf just sucks without Tiger and playing for next to nothing on that lousy course in Hawaii. I don't know why they even bother to have that stupid tournament. Enjoy the Mercedes. :)

Like I said JJ..............the same old show. Tiger is out injured and they still talk about him. I admit, he is the greatest to have ever played the game and news is sparce until the season starts to crank, but give us a break, the guy is on injured reserved. You don't hear announcers in football talk that much about Tom Brady when they referenced the Patriots!!!!!!

Well........they DID have the latest on John Daly and the fact that he is suspended from missing the cut on Tour for six months. There was some tournament that might be in trouble because John wouldn't be there to miss the cut , because he was suspended. They talked to several players who were , obviously , more concerned with John's mental health than the fact that he was a big draw at the few tournaments he would get in the field. I was thinking they might extend some of those invitations to David Duval. He's not quite as colorful , but he can miss a cut with the best of them.

I like Duval..................i hope he gets his game back.

Tonight on GC they overdid it. Don't get me wrong, I like Tiger, but he's out, on the shelf, injured reserve, not playing. I can't believe they can't get through one show without drooling all over him. Come on, I know he is "the game" but give us a break!

They even showed a spot for The Approach and the whole segment was about Tiger, ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhh!
