Greetings from the lone Canuck on the board (I think) -

Today we got our first snowfall that stayed on the ground, here in Mid-Western Ontario.
Really crappy weather yesterday, windy, sideways rain that blew in under my garage door, you name it. Seemed to let off around 6PM. Thought the weather forecast for snow in the evening was wrong.

Got up this morning to falling snow on our sun room roof (can see it from the bedroom window) and snow gathering on the lawn. Boooooooo!

Seemed fairly mild so thought it wouldn't stay long - IIGH - WRONG! The roads are clear, just wet, but the temp dropped big and the snow is still on the lawns and in the shrubs and gardens.

So - here we go into another southern Canada winter and, alas, all hope of a freak late season game is gone. (I'd cleared out my locker and put the bats in the basement anyway.................)

Roy - I guess things are going to head the same way for you - if not already.

Good news is it tends to kick-start the Christmas shopping mentality - and economy. And apart from the materialism of all that, it gets the mood going for we Canadians. That's one thing I really missed when I was south of the Mason-Dixon last December - there just wasn't that "feel". If you're a Canuck, ya gotta have cold, snow, ice, and lights on huge spruce trees on front lawns to get in the mood. I think we're hard-wired that way.

Enjoy the run-up to Christmas everybody..................

Tele

Has been quite a nip in the air here for the last week. Supposed to get our first freeze tonight with a NE wind. We are headed to our bavarian village, Leavenworth on the 8th and then the spirit will hit. Or is it all the wine tasting we will do? We want enough snow for the granddaughters to sled but not so much we have to put chains on to travel. Hope it works out.
