I think anyone who watched the Solheim Cup, agrees that Michelle played wonderful and most importantly did not choke on Sunday in her match after letting Alfredsson back to all aquare.
I really saw many Tiger like type shots through the entire cup. She stuck many shots from far distances. She has Dave Stockton as her short game coach and it is already paying huge dividends. Again like Tiger, she was rock solid from 10 feet in on her putts and her lags were wonderful.
Could this have been her break through week? I see wins coming and in bunches. IMO
She outplayed everyone on both teams and if that was a stroke play event this past weekend, we would be talking about her first win.

Roy, I think you are right   ..........I don't know if I would say she has arrived, but I believe she is on the RIGHT course to become a major player in Women's golf. The addition of Dave Stockton was a brillant move and I think Lead will slowly move to the back seat as she works with Dave.

Her parents were not there hovering over her and I think Stockton will point blank put it to them if they try to smother her. I don't think he would try to come between them, but you know what I mean.......Stockton is to the point and up front.....and a good move for Michelle!

Roy,,,,, IMO she "Has Arrived",,,, as you stated. As you know I have stated in many post before and as you stated in another thread here,, "Get Her Parents Away and OUT" from around her. This should prove something to them and also to her. I again will state that she would have won by now if they would have let her go and listened to the coaches,,, !!!! I agree with FG,,, Stockton wont take any bull, just let them be and we will have a major force in a short time,,,, !!!!!

Hmmm..... I'm not so sure.
As the saying goes "One hot day doesn't make a summer", although this year seems that way, I'm going to reserve judgement for a bit.
I think she played well but she still showed some chinks in the armor, so to speak.
Definitely agree that getting her parents away for a bit and bonding with the team seems to have been a great tonic for what might be ailing her.
She's still got a lot of work to do.

Later,

Well, take the media out of it, if they would just "Get" the parents away you would IMO see a win come pretty quick. :D

I'm not sure she has "arrived" as far as being a consistent player week in and week out on the LPGA tour, but her play in the Solheim Cup was very impressive. It shows that she can compete with something important at stake.

This can only help her mentally, because she might be faced with a challenge down the road, like in a playoff, that she can look back and possibly draw on this experience in a positive light.

It is a situation a lot like what Natalie Gulbis had to go through in her first Solheim Cup.She was without a win at the time on the tour, but she came through big time in that competition, and helped the Americans win it.It seemed to propel her to new heights, and eventually a tour win.

I don't feel it will be any different for Michelle. With all the talent on this tour at the time,it is hard to even earn a victory on it.

But some confidence in your abilities goes a long ways. :)
