This is true. I have convinced myself that putting is the best part of my game. It usually is , but i have those days when nothing drops. It takes guts to be a really good putter.............and a friendly relationship with gravity.

Drivers, by their very nature, are anti-gravity devices. Sometimes I think mine is anti-matter and anti-control as well. :-}
I got a putting tip a few years back that turned me into a decent putter. I was told to get closer to the ball, my eyes over the line, keep the sole parallel to the ground and stroke the ball to the hole. He also told me that no matter how hard I tried or how much I fretted there would only be one of two results. It's either going in or it isn't.

Today i played my first rounds of 2009,one scoring,in which I scored an 81(+9),which is not too bad,and a practice round.I have been idle for over four months due to cruddy weather.In the practice round a very strange thing happened to my driver.I hit a drive on hole #2 about 225,straight down the middle,but I heard what sounded like a tree branch breaking when I hit it,and didn't think nothing of it.
When I hit my drive on #3,the head snapped off right where the shaft attaches to it...A very clean break.
Mind you that it was pretty cold out there this morning,and I am wondering if the colder weather affects graphite shafts.
Anyone know out there?

How cold? Pretty normal temps, above freezing, shouldn't have mattered.

IMO, the cold should not have been a factor in the breaking of the shaft. I would have the local shop look at it.

If it's a clean break at the hosel then it's a shaft defect. Unless you had it shafted or shafted it yourself I'd send it back to manufacturer for warranty repair. If it's a couple of years old they'll probably send you a new driver if you're polite. Cold weather shouldn't have affected it IMO.
