So John says after another missed cut at Torrey Pines.I dont know what to make of this myself. Some are saying it was just a ploy for the up coming golf channel series on John. Would I would like to see is John step away from the game for awhile a year maybe 2 and try to get his game in shape and then reasess this decision. He has lost over a 100 lbs in the last year and some of the so called experts say that is a lot of his problem because the weight lost would alter your swing.
It looked to me as i watched him the first 2 days out there that he was just going thru the motions. That he just didnt care. he made a couple of long putts on Thursday and he didnt show any emotion at all. He just looked depressed to me.I would like to see him try one more time to get his game togehter and give it another shot down the road. BUt thats just me i know a lot of people have hammered him here and on other boards for the crap he has been going thru in his life. He had a boatload of talent at one time long ago but maybe it is the end of the road for JD. Time will tell. It will make a lot of people happy if this is truly the end of John Daly. I for one will not be one of those. commments, opinions ?????????????????

It is scary that he is going through the motions already at the beginning of the season. I would have maybe expected this in a few months or so, but right out of the gate? He really needs to completely give up drinking and get that part of of his life 100% under control, then come back to golf. His god given golfing talents are still there somewhere in him. IMO

He has been playing like this for years. Lots of guys have talent on the PGA Tour. I fail to see the ongoing facination with John Daly. If he somehow gets his game back together ....more power to him....but his act is getting old. He hits shots you would expect from a 15 hcp around the greens and his putting is abysmal....no speed control....you can't do that on fast greens.

Good luck to John , but he has to MAKE some of that luck.

Duval without out doubt. He is miles ahead of where Daly is with his game.

Now the story is that his sponsors are making him play and he will be in the field this week.
