Sixteen year old Lexi Thompson has a five stroke lead going into the fourth and final round of the LPGA tourney this week. This girl has done some amazing things already, but to win at 16 which is two years+ younger than the previous youngest winner in the LPGA's history would be awesome. Lexi is not a member of the LPGA tour yet because they have the 18 and older rule. She did receive an exemption to go ahead and qualify through Q-school later this year.
She is not on the USA Solheim cup team either because one has to be a member of the LPGA tour.

That's funny Roy as i was going to start a thread on Lexi Thompson myself. i feel she is real deal.I have watched her the last couple of years. She is what the LPGA really needs right now an american who is playing well and competing with the Sourth Koreans. I have said it before the domination of the Koreans is not very good for the LPGA and it is i beleive that it is choking the LPGA to death. And then you got Yani Tseng. She is one bad ass golfer. but I digress. Lexi would make a nice addition to the LPGA tour. Creamer Wie,Gulbis, Morgan, I could go on and on are just not getting it done.But as I always like to say thats a subject for another day. I hope Lexi can seal the deal today.

I agree that Lexi is the real deal. It seems her game plan, her parents, her handlers and her attitude are all were they should be, unlike Michelle Wie at age 16. She seems like the girl next door. It's almost like she does not know how good she is. I also like how she is always smiling when she realizes the camera is on her. She will have sponsors dying to get her onboard. If she wins today, she will have a top notch caddie lined up for next season. She does look like she might get real nervous today, we will see how she handles it. I'm rooting for her 100000%. I will DVR the 4th round and watch it after the football games. I'm not DVR'ing the PGA.
I agree that the LPGA has to have big time sucessful young USA players for the long term success of the tour. Lexi along with Creamer, Pressel and a few others look promising. If Wie ever gets her game consistently back to were we all know it can be will be huge also. She should be done with school, right? Maybe 2012 will be her big year.

She is awesome.

Cannot wait to see the new reality show..."Caddy Wars". A 13 episode reality show about the cheating,lying,backstabbing etc as the caddies line up to loop her bag.

Yep, congrats. She just applied for the exemption yesterday and the LPGA wasted no time making their decision. She has earned it.

I'll caddie for her at 5% her earnings, much lower than any other caddie would settle for. lol

Ah, was wondering about that. Still catching up on the news. Golf Week has already nicknamed her "Titanic". But that one was used long ago. Now days there is no creativity in nicknames, always just a simple play on the name.
