Despite what some people may think, people do and have always checked out Mcdivots, but they see only a handful of people on at most and look around a bit etc... They don't see enough of new posts when they check back either. We seem to be in a catch 22 situation. THey complain because we are not acitive enough, but we need more people to be more active.
We need to agree on a time one evening that we can all be online posting away. We can tell all of our friends and online buddies to check us out during this time. This way they can sign up and there should be a good amount of posting and activity going on.
I am open for any ideas on what would be a good time to do this. Let's brainstorm in this thread and offer any other ideas yopu may have, this would be appreciated.

I agree, if we could all set a time that could help. I know several of my friends have made the visit but haven't joined up yet and I do see visitors each time I am on the board.!!! I will go with whatever time the majority would like to do this !!!!!
Maybe giving another email to the ones who didn't make the switch would help ???

Most are in bed by the time I log on but will try to stay active longer if that helps.

Well, just a suggestion don't know if or how it might do. What do you think of taking the "Welcome" folder out of the Announcements (Forum News) and make it a main folder under Forum News on the First page ??? This way everyone would see it and not by pass and not have to look for it under the announcements. The members could also greet the new member right away. Also maybe have a folder right above it that is called "If your just Lurking Sign Up and become a Member of McDivots", it could state something to the affect of "If you are just lurking through McDiviots then you know by now its the best Golf DB going. Take the time to join up, become a member and meet new friends" . This folder could be locked by you so no post are made in it and its just for the guest that are looking at the DB. Well, just brainstorming I know all of the above isn't worded right but hope ya get the idea.

Just like Cobra, thinking out loud, maybe a message description of the benefits of membership. There are a lot of little "neat" things about the forum that make it very good, IMO. The ability to use the phots beside your name, the message counter, NSFW folder, the smiles, the themes, easy signatures, expanded profile, etc. etc. Could there be some type of bonus for getting new members to join? Not sure what that could be, again, just thinking out loud. Maybe something in the profile as to who recommended you, I don't know, just trying to think..............where all this smoke coming from.............well, right now that's my 2 cents.
