Guess it had to happen, sooner or later .........

Our club officially closed yesterday, Sunday, November 9th. It was a LOUSY day with a lot of wind and cold temps and some fine rain, from time to time. Wasn't sorry I decided to stay in bed.
But .... this morning, Mother Nature made it pretty much a "fait accomplis" with a thin blanket of snow! Kind of weird in that I live in an area of south-west Ontario, Canada, where snow is a non-issue until about mid-January. Yeah, we get snow before then but, never even close the to US mid-west and never stays more than about 3 hours. We usually have to pray, hard, for a white Christmas.
Oh well, in all honesty, I was only going through the motions for the last couple weeks, anyway. It wasn't so much fun as it was, "I've paid my club dues and there's no rain or snow so, I'm going to play." Was I really enjoying it? No!
I'm ready for the winter break - I'm golfed-out and bored with it. The winter break just makes me that much hungrier to get out and play when the weather breaks and the spring comes. Such is life in southern Canada...............
Looking forward to swapping lies over the winter.
Cheers everybody!
Chuck

Yes, it is getting to be that time of the year. Lots of other activities going on that take up golf time. If the courses here near rivers wern't unplayable for the rest of the off season, they will be with the next series of storms that hit. So that eliminates about half the courses here.

Such is life. Like sand through an hourglass.......so are the days of our lives.

I can relate to the "going through the motions" part. The only problem being , i'm not sure which motions i'm supposed to be going through. The last time i played ; i hit the ball like a thirty handicap on a bad day. Golf is no fun at all. Why do we play such a game ?

Next year........it will all be better next year.

"Why do we play such a game ?"

Ah, dear JJ. Guess you didn't see the documentary I did that addressed that very question ........

It's because about once a month, any one of us, regardless is skill level, gets lucky and hits a quality shot worthy of a tour pro. Difference is, we're stupid enough to think we can do it again at will. :P

Seriously, though, I really think it's the good days/bad days thing. Have a good day and you're hungry to get back out there and keep it going. Have a bad day and you're hungry to get back out there and redeem yourself. It's a vicious circle!

Later dewd!
