She had a good day shot 69, 3 under par. She is currently tied for 6th place. Still a long way to go, but a good start for her. I hope she makes it, but am concerned about whether she will play full time, or how she will fit school in. Time will tell.
Anna Rawson also had a good day, shot a 71, 1 under, tied for 19th. Still work to do for her.

I agree,,, great start and I hope she will play great all the way through. Good point on school, not sure how she would do that but IMO it should come first. If she stays on track both the golf and school could be accomplished !!!

" I hope she makes it, but am concerned about whether she will play full time, or how she will fit school in. Time will tell." By the looks of her first round of play,I would guess that she(Michelle) could do well here. She shot the lowest round of the day on the course she played, and she plays the easier of the two courses tomorrow. She could come out firing tomorrow and shoot very well, and firmly plant herself within the top twenty...which we all know by now is what she needs to do to actually get people to buy into the concept that she could be a tour-caliber player that could prove to be a contender...But it hasn't happened in a while, and I hope that this may be the time she actually DOES do it.Sure,it would be a slap in the face to all the neigh-sayers on all the boards, but it might be a well deserved slap. If she makes it(which I hope she will),she will probably play in more tournaments next year, which will draw(disputely)much bigger crowds, either to see the vintage Michelle or a train wreck in action. They will probably get one or the other, but my bet is on the the vintage Michelle to come through, and maybe draw even more of the crowd wishing for a train wreck, most of which will probably leave the grounds once that doesn't materialize. These people are not true golf fans. They don't want to see someone SUCCEED,they would rather watch someone FAIL!...That is not what I want to see in ANY golfer, whether professional or not. She might not play full time either, but I bet she would play in a few more events, which would(I hope) ultimately help the tour... But that is only if she gets her card...and there are 4 rounds left.Who knows what could happen between now and then?

Well stated, I hope she makes it and stays on the right road. She has the talent, and it would be nice to see her get everything together with her golfing career.

As Dan said, this was the tougher of the courses so she is in good shape to have another good round. I like her and entorage stance of no interviews until after the final. finally some sense from the camp.

I agree the best thing she has done is stop talking to the media who has crucified her in the past. Let her earn her card and see what she can do on the LPGA tour. Her parents have made some real bad decisions for her in the past.Hopefually she is more mature and can handle the presuure she must be feeling now. On another note our local gal Kim Welch the last BB winner is tied at 56th with a 1 over par. She did get her LPGA card by finishing in the top ten on the Futures tour but has virtually no status as we have discussed before on here.So she is trying to improve her status. I think she has the game but her putting has been suspect like i have said in the past about her. Pro golf is all about making the birdies. but she has 4 more days to get it together assuming she makes the cut on Saturday. Come on Kim. get er done lol.

If she gets her card, which I hope and believe she will, she will have to play at least the minimum required to maintain it. That would only add, as I remember, 4 more events than the number of exemptions she could receive without being a member, but that's at least a few more.
If she continued her schedule from last year, go to school for two quarters and then skip the next two, she could easily play 15 or so. If she does that, she will only improve, I believe.

I don't think there was ever much doubt she could qualify for the LPGA Tour and win some tournaments once she got there.
I don't see how it would be a " slap in the face" to people who thought she was she was not PGA caliber. THAT was the objective she had in mind and think she failed at that objective and now will play on the LPGA. I don't remember anyone who thought she didn't have enough talent to play on the women's tour. Maybe i missed something.
She will be a welcome addition to the LPGA and will certainly have a good career.

WOW! Today 7 under 65 and tied for the lead! I think unless she explodes this could be "close" to locking up her card, BUT there are still 3 more rounds to go. I hope she makes it and avoids letting all the "hype building" that seem to surround her seep back in and consume her. I'm glad for Kim, but other BB'ers Ashley, and Bri seem destined to miss the cut.

Yeah, she seems to be playing well. I hope, if she is sitting on the lead at the end of the day, that she doesn't let up and try to par out three more rounds.
When she tied to low score on the more difficult course yesterday, I thought it was evident she was playing well. Hope she continues for the next three rounds to play so well!!
