My overall impression of the Olympics.

China did a greaat job with the 45-80 billion dollars it spent on the games. Very nice venues and they treated everyone right. THe spotlight is off of them, so they can go back to doing some things the way they like it.

Michael Phelps - Wow!!! The highlight of the games
US swimming - Did a real good job, even if you don't factor in Phelps
US Gymnastics - Woman did a real good job overall, Men did good despite losing their two best gymnasts.
US Bssketball - They delivered and redeemed themselves. They appear that they really enjoyed and appreciated the moment.
US volleyball - We owned it. Men and women won gold indoors and on the beach.
US track - They did pretty good, even with the baton nightmare on one day. But the jury is out for about another eight years. This is when all the steriod scandels for 2008 track should be cleared up and we will see who really ended up with what medals.
US fencing - women's trifecta
US softball - Anything but gold has to be disappointing. Hopefully, it will be back in the future
US Baseball - silver was good. Is baseball gone for good?
US pingpong - BBBoooo. Our best player was bought out by Russia for a million dollars.
