It's looking more & more like I'm going to be going to the west coast next month (long back story). I'll wind up with 5 - 8 days to kill before coming back, and I'm looking to play some golf, on the cheap if possible. I know that Las Vegas has lots of option, but I've never heard anyone opine on Palm Springs. So what's available as far as reasonably priced golf / lodging / eats in that area during September? Thanks in advance for any help.

Been a couple years since I've been there. Fall is when they are supposed to do a lot of their course maintainence. GolfNow and Nextday golf have lots of cheap options. Even at some of the top courses. Still should be hot during the day but cool off at night. To many good places to eat to mention. The BeerHunter (several of them) are good golf oriented sports bars.
