Huh? He will probably play on the exemptions after turning pro and hope he makes enough to not have to go to Q-school

In the recent past, it has become rare for any of them to use all the exemptions. I think they use the Masters exemption and then normally go pro has been the practice. Once the Masters is played, I think some of the new guys to the tour start taking some short breaks so it is easier to get into events.

If he turns Pro before the Masters he loses that also. I sure wouldn't want to give these tourneys up !!!

That's true, and with his game he could most likely do just as you have stated.

Those other majors wouldn't give him any status for next year. This way he has 6 months to make enough to miss Q-school. If he is in the top 10 he gets in the next week plus Monday qualifying.
