Here in VA, Hanna just passed through, leaving some damp fairways and a few fallen trees. It appears Ike is heading for Florida, maybe around the keys. Right now Ike is being called the biggest storm since Katrina. I hope they are wrong.

Got to take the chain saw to NC next trip, my neighbor told me I lost a tree there! :(

We lucked out yesterday, only had hard rain and the wind wasn't to high. It did get some trees though. Seems it went more to the west than predicted so the coast got some relief !!!!

I feel for those already hit by Ike, nothing to play around with there.

If ya dont mind me asking, where is your place in NC. ?????

Yeah, when I looked at the Weather for the weekend in New Bern, for Friday it said Hurricane conditions late in the day. That put a warm feeling right in the pit of my stomach.

We like it very much, we bought a lot about 20 years ago, just sat on it and about 3 years ago, started considering if we wanted to retire there. It is very nice.

I am thinking the same thing, in about 3 years I may retire. Looking around Pinehurst, and several other areas in NC. My sister in law lives in Apex.
