Cobra,
Based on your input, on a lark, I got an estimate to go to Pinehurst instead of MB. Have you played any of these? What do you think??
Thank you for your interest in Little River Golf & Resort. We would love to have your group stay here with us for your 2009 golf trip. Here is a package I have put together for your review.
-Accommodations for 4 nights
-Full Hot Breakfast each morning
-18 holes with carts @ Little River with GPS Systems (Troon managed)
-18 holes with carts @ Southern Pines GC
-18 holes with carts @ Whispering Pines CC
-18 holes with carts @ Talamore
-18 holes with carts @ Hyland Hills
We would still stop on the way down and returning back home.
FG

FG WOW,,, that's a great line up !!!! The only one I have not played is Hyland Hills but have heard great reviews on that course. The last several times we have gone we stayed at Talamore !!!! They have very nice condos and it is a great course,,, !!!! With what you have lined up its going to be a great trip !!!!! Glad you took a shot at it !!!! IMO, I think you will see the big difference I have stated between the areas. If not, you can blame it on me. !!!! LOL When do ya plan to go ??????

Right now, this is just what they offered, I shot them the plans for this years Myrtle Beach trip, and they gave me this lineup. I looked at the courses on the web and they all do look GREAT! I have heard from about maybe a third of the group and the replies have been positive so I am starting to do a little more research.
What do you know about Little River? Impressive web site, but I would like to know a little more. Who do you normally have set up your trip? I always get two estimates, still even in Myrtle beach.
If we do take this route, you can line me up with some good restaurants!
We are looking at late April, early May. We would leave early on a Sunday, stop, play Golf, spend the night. The next morning, we would head in for an afternoon tee time and then check in. The group normally likes the later tee times, which is why I am trying to book early. When we leave on Friday, we would check out then play Golf, and head north. We would spend the night get up Saturday, play Golf early and head home after that. It is usually a FULL week!

The last 2 trips we have booked and stayed at Talamore, the year before we stayed at Fire Fox. I will have to try and look up the numbers for ya. Talamore is centrally located in Southern Pines and makes it easy to get to all of the courses. I will get some names of the places to eat there, my friend knows them by "Name" , I just remember "How" to get to them. LOL !!!! I really think your in for a treat. That's about how we do it also, its about a full week and its fun but at the end my "Old Bones" start to feel it !!!!!

More to add,,,, !!! Talked with a friend of mine last night and he gave me the name of the 2 places we really like to eat at.
1. "Lobsteer", great steak and seafood place off of Rt. 1.
2. Shuckers
Both are great. As stated I have never stayed at Little River Farm Golf Course, but he has. Said the rooms and condos are great and the service was second to none.
I have played the course, and its a treat. !!!!!

Meant to mention, the time of year that you are going down is great and we usually go around the same time. "REMEMBER" that when they start lining up the days that you will be playing you "ASK" about the conditions of the "GREENS". That time of year they seem to work all the greens but they do skip from course to course so they aren't all done at the same time.
