I have beenwatching the ladies US Womans Amateur toournament this past weekend. wow these gals can really play some golf. all close matches for the most part. The thing that really gets to me though is when there caddies get directly behind them and line them up on there shots from the fairways and on the greens with there putts. Ill bet just about everyone of the players did this. i know its allowed in the rules of golf but should it be? I dont think it should in my opinion. It has to slow the pace of play to a crawl at the beginning of the week. it very time consuming i feel. I see a little of this on the LPGA tour with some of the players also. Not so much on the PGA tour unless your Jim Furyk and Fluff. His putting routine aslo gets to me. I know you know what im talking about there.
As these girls get along further in their golf games. and a lot of them had there dads on there bags as caddies they wont be there for them to help them.I guess what im saying is there will come a time where theywll have to make club selection and reading putts on there own. Can you imagine if every player on the LPGA and PGA tour did this. i think you would see this rule changed very quickly. Thoughts about this everyone please or am i the only one that feels this way about this?

Gary

I agree DR and others, tough to call.

However I wish they would move out of the way so I could see the cute girls bend down!

Never had a caddy myself, and I don't quite understand this lining up,but I don't think it is necessary.

If you can't line up a putt, then you should be on the practice green working on it.

Nothing against the pros, but us weekend hacks have been dealing with this for years, and we have found a way to read it without a caddy, and sometimes we are successful. :)
