Ladies & Gentlemen,

Let me climb on my soapbox here...........The winner in this event was Women's Golf. Those girls, on both teams, played with dedication, determination, spirit and yes, talent on a very tough golf course. This was indeed a shot in the arm for the LPGA and if rumors were true about the cup in Europe, their performance squelched them, period!

I hope that the LPGA takes the ball which is now in their hands and runs with it! I hope the sponsors were watching and try to produce the same "feel" at their events. New sponsors should have been entertained at this event and by God, I hope they were!

IMO, this was as good as any cup I've seen either on TV or in person (Presidents Cup). It had drama, spectacular play, spirit, excitement and emotion and came down to almost the end on Sunday so should have been a ratings winner. I believe that this raises the bar on a somewhat flat upcoming Presidents Cup, of which, the best is yet to come I hope!

The Europeans came in as huge underdogs and left with respect, of the US Team and the spectators. They played GREAT, probably good enough to win under normal circumstances. The United States Team played wonderfully and actually stepped up when it looked as though they were going to fold.........I'm sure that surprised a lot of people and a lot of Golf writers!

The LPGA has been under fire this season and struggling to keep its head above water, well now the ball is in their court and they have something to build on.......let's see them do it!

I for one hope they can! Getting off my soapbox now........

congratulations to Team USA. Like FG said it had a little bit of everything. Now if the american players can find a way to use this as a stepping stone to get some wins on the LPGA tour. The Korean gals seem to be dominating which i feel is not good for there tour. Hopefually this win will breathe some new life in some of the players. Time will tell. Whats the matter hips? you dont care for Favre retiring unretiring retiring and unretireing? :D :D :D he does seem like a confused soul.

I'm with you FunGolfer.Team USA played great in the singles matches, and they HAD to,or they might not have won it...It was that close.

The European team played with so much determination that it is a shame they had to be on the losing end,but they all played very well and should hold their heads high after this one. They played much better as a team than I thought they were capable of,and it made this particular Solheim Cup very interesting and entertaining to watch until the finish. :D

This has always been one of my favorite events to watch the ladies battle since it started back in the 80's,and this year's might have been the best one yet. :)
