Well, I did something silly yesterday at Golf Galaxy.
I was perusing the pre-owned racks and spotted a Callaway FT-5 9* Neutral with an I-Mix Proto 80S "By You" shaft.
I guess it wasn't supposed to be in the used stuff. It didn't have a mark on it.
I hit it in their booth and asked the guy to show me the numbers but their computer is broke. I almost put it back but the head felt solid and it didn't make that annoying tink most big heads make.
Anyway, to make a long story a bit shorter I now own a Callaway driver. I haven't had one since the original Warbird back sometime in the 90's. I need to get a wrench somewhere but it did come with a nice new headcover.
Now, if the darned weather would cooperate I'd find out if it hits on the course or not.

Later,

I'm sure hoping so. If not at least it's not a really expensive mistake. :-}
I need to get a wrench though so I can take it apart. It's the mechanic in me coming out. :-}

Hey - remember - my kid's a mechanic and has a HUGE box full of Snap-On wrenches of all kinds. I'm sure he won't miss one for a couple days of you promise to courier it back ;) :lol:
Seriously, hope you find it and can get it tuned. Could be a great deal.......
Cheers

I think I'll leave the hammer out of the equation for the time being.
Hey Tele, I've got a pretty big box full of Craftsman tools myself.
Unfortunately none of them match up to this I-Mix nut.
I guess I could use Vice-grips but if I have to send it back to Callaway for some reason they might get testy. :-}

I-Mix nut, huh?! When did Callaway join the auto industry? :lol: (Special, proprietary tool)
GM drives Colin nuts. If he has to work on a recent model, there are fasteners that require tools only GM has and he has to either buy it from GM at full pop or rent it for the day. Chrysler goes a step further. There's no bloody dip stick in a Chrysler 300. You have to take it back to the dealer to have the oil checked - at a price. His shop had to buy one at retail from the local Chrysler dealer to service the 300s they get n for Lube-Oil-Filter jobs. No wonder the industry is going down the pipe!
Anyway - enough of that - I really hope you can find the tool you need and get that club adjusted so it fits you. Might be worth a buck or two to contact Callaway and tell them yours got stolen or something and plead for a new one. Heard their customer service is fantastic so it might be worth a shot.
Cheers
Tele
