Here is another one to give the rules Nazi's fits...And this did happen to me once.
Same situation,different results.
I struck a tree with my shot that was 10 yards in front of me.The ball came back and deflected off my shoulder blade and went OB after that.What is the ruling here?(It didn't hit my club).
I took a 3 stroke penalty for that one...1 for the ball hitting me,and 2 for the ball going OB after it hit me.Was this the correct ruling?...I agreed to it at the time,but it cost me a really good score...I shot a 76 that day(with the penalty).
Although I do know the rules of golf,that one really seems to still bother me,because I am an honest golfer,but the penalty seemed rather harsh,considering the circumstances.Should I have only been penalized 2 strokes?...I really don't know.
