Went to our golf show this afternoon, nothing spectacular going on there. Was hoping to find some cheap Bandon duds, but no luck. Cour d Alene was the only resort that had a good clothes selection.
Did get a good 20 minute lesson though, need to cut down the backswing and work on balance, things I sort of knew. But got a subscription to Golf Digest and a free round at a nice course. All for $9.

I'm standing pat on equipment this season. Speaking of "Pat." Did anyone see K.D. Lang sing during the Opening Ceremonies for the Winter Olympics ? She ....or he.....really belted that tune out ! :D

Wow ...good deal for nine bucks ! I don't let anyone mess with my carefully executed 12- step swing. I swing........take twelve steps.....and then swing again. I'm very straight though.

I'm thinking of going with that John Daly look this season. The cigarette and that hound dog "hangover face" go well with those wicked trou. It will be either the "Daly" look ...or i could go with that "Ricky Fowler" thing. That cute little painter hat with the hair and some bright orange pants ! I think i can pull it off................ehhhhh....maybe not.

I think i'll stick with my really short blue gym shorts ...... sweat-stained Skoal hat...... un-natural yellow shirt with one of those high and stiff collars so reminiscent of those seventies glory days .... multi-striped knee socks......and my yellowed 1971 model wing tips , with those big flaps covering the laces....that i found at Play- It- Again for two dollars. All the cart-girls really go for that look. ;)

Ours here in DC was the weekend of the extreme blizzard.......but I did mange to make it as I am only about 20 minutes away. I got my yearly subscription to GOLF, which I tend to like a bit better than the digest, but both are good.

The courses were not really handing out discounts as they have in the past, which disappointed me. Usually we end up with enough coupons to get us to about July with good deals, but not this year. It was fun and worth the $7.........

Nothing worse than dribbling it off the tee. Really seizes up the gonads. The next shot is always out of that extremely thick rough from a downhill lie that they so graciously leave just in front of a tee box. Then ; you are faced with most of that forced carry over whatever nightmare that lies in wait for your next shot AND you have seized gonads ! It's a sure recipe for disaster.

I was not aware of golf shows. Deals and such you say ? Sounds like heaven for cheap bastages like myself. "Golf" is the better magazine. I like to fill my head with swing tips before i play , so i know what to do from that thick rough in front of the tee box.......should i rip a 5 wood into the barranca ....or "lay-up with a flopshot to the women's tee box....and THEN rip a 5 wood into the barranca ? Course management is SO important.

Even better news from the Golf Show, I finally won something. A free round here at a course I've been wanting to play:http://www.thehomecourse.com/sites/courses/layout9.asp?id=542&page=27921
