This was originally written as a 1st-class, gold-braided rant - and I deleted it! Helped get it off my chest and nobody got offended.......and my American friends would have been................ Once I got going, it looked more like it belonged over on Golf Channel.

Let it suffice to say, what got me jacked up was - Hillary comes to Canada for a G8 conference and then diss's us - on Canadian soil - cuz our Defense Minister is sticking to the original agreement that we're out of Afghanistan at the end of 2011. That's never been a secret, Hillary.

Sorry - that really pissed me off.

I've said, time and again, that I have no right to comment on US politics. I don't live there so its none of my business. But this time she came into MY country and criticized us on our own soil so I think I'm entitled to a little latitude in the that respect. I've watched far too many repatriation processions along the Highway of Heroes, between Canadian Forces Base - Trenton and Toronto. And that is NOT to say there haven't been far too many similar repatriations in the USA.

OK - nuff said - I'm done.

My utmost respect, and profound thanks, to ALL the young people over there - no matter what flag is on their uniform. They are working to protect us all and our way of life and we owe them - BIG!!!!

She is doing the job that The Obama sent her to do. I tried to find out just what she said that would be construed as "diss'es us" ...but did not find any quotes or statements. Hillary comes off as a stern teacher who is castigating the class when she has ANYTHING to say. ( "Now Bill , put that thing away before it gets you in trouble.") She was another of Barack's bad choices. She does not have the proper personality for the post of Sec. of State. She does more harm than good. Let's see....that's Canada and Israel in the last two weeks. Rock solid allies....who needs em !

I was reading where an American Colonel was lamenting the loss of Canadian forces when they move out. He said they had a close and successful relationship with the excellent Canadian forces.....or words to that effect. This was a guy on the ground over there and not some yutz from the Pentagon.
It's a mess....a dangerous mess....my best friend flew missions over Iraq and my nephew served in Iraq on the ground. My son's good friend is a Marine medic in Iraq who is being re-assigned to Afghanistan. I'm glad they survived and i'll be happy that some young Canadians will be spared . I don't know ANYBODY who is gung-ho about these "wars." Everyone wants this thing to have an ending. We should all pull out of Afghanistan tomorrow. Maybe Islamic extremism can be contained from afar. Maybe the hornets will stay in the hive. It looks to be a losing battle , much like Nam.

On the other hand ; i take issue with the shitheads who are saying we are in these conflicts because of race. Some of this stuff came from Canadians over the last week or so. I say BULLSHIT to that !!!!!!
You should have filed the "rant" version. This DB could use an enema. It's TOO much the antithesis of TGC board in that regard. Most don't even have a thought on golf , much less politics.
