Hey y'all
Finally, and at long last, I'm out of the assignment-to-assignment wilderness, as of this week.
I'd mentioned in the Economy thread that I thought things were improving because we were seeing more requests to quote on deployment support as well as on-site training. Well, we've had 2 major wins in the last two months. We won a contract to do day-1 roll-out support for Bell Canada's retail phone/internet/TV stores - 400 of 'em. The real biggie, though, is the one I'm on as I write. We won a contract for full project management and deployment support for all new stores for Save-A-Lot grocery stores in the US. There's more than enough work in this one to see me to, and past, retirement should I choose to stay beyond the next 3 years - (I'm 62). Don't get me wrong - the company is doing very well building web-based training. There's just been no call for my specialty - on-site deployment support and face-to-face training. There sure as Hell is now!
Who knows? You might even find me coming to a city near you one day since I'll be spending the majority of my time in your great country for the foreseeable future. As I write this, I'm on the road in St.Louis, MO. Then hop over to Tifton, GA on Sunday morning to spend a week in a store there. Home for a couple of weeks after that then hard at it until I cry uncle.
Sorry I haven't been here for a while. Haven't had much interest in golf this season as finances have forbidden play. (Well, been interested but just pushed it to back of mind - ya know?) Only played 5 rounds so far and one of those was paid for by my son as his b'day gift to me. (In fact, Roy even pinged me today to ask if there was anything wrong - thanks Roy. Nothing wrong - was just in a bit of a funk is all. Not anymore!

)
So - it seems life has just done a total 180 in the last two weeks. Once again, there's hope and aspirations, and plans for a future beyond next week. It feels great.
Cheers all!
Chuck (Teleman61)
