The big question looming is whether or not the PGA will ask Zinger to repeat, or use its normal selection process. I think a lot of what he did was great, and the European streak was broken. There is no guarentee that he would accept even if he was asked, but I think that 2010 will be a "tough row to hoe" as the Euro's will want to again start a winning trend. Also if Woosie is selected and the fact that it is being played in Wales, will add to the uphill climb.

I think that the PGA needs to continue to use its process and move on with what he's put in place, and be open to change. It would not shock me if Europe did some tweaking before hte next Ryder Cup.

Will Azinger be the 2010 Captain, what do you think?????????????

This talk started as soon as the winning point was posted. Lots of ways to go in the next 2 years and will generate lots of talk. Right now, I have no clue as who else would be a good candidate but tradition says it is an honor to be shared.

I have doubts whether he'd accept, even if asked, but he might want to prove it was no fluke!! :0)
It will be tough to win in Wales, and more than likely Woosie will be the Euro captain.

I think they should go through their normal process, whatever it is, and give a captaincy to the next "deserving" person. Rumor is Corey Pavin is at the top of the list!

I would agree he may want to prove it was no fluke, but as you stated I doubt he would take it.

IMO, move on to the next one !!!!

I think you are right, he would accept. I recall him saying some time ago that he felt that this would be the year that Payne would have been Captain if he had not been taken away, so while he never said it publically, deep down this one was for Payne.

Very good thought. Never entered my mind about Payne.

While it MAY have been, I think he would have a tough time following it up in Wales.
