As of now, "Rookie" Michelle Wie is tied for the lead with Angela Stanford (who has just begun her round), in the clubhouse at -8 following her second round, carding rounds of 66 and 70 at the 3-round event. At one point in the day she held the outright lead, by 2 strokes, then carded a bogey at 17. Close behind is Angela Park, at -7 and playing 18. Weather has been somewhat of a factor, with some rain and wind (blowing pretty hard today) in the event. It's been a good watch thus far (much better than Pebble, IMO). MW's swing is quite a bit changed from the last couple of years, and she is swinging more like the (and I hate to say it for a 19-year-old) but like the "Old Michelle." Yesterday her putting was lights out. Today not "quite as good, had a couple of three-putts."

Just caught a bit of it. None of MW except a few highlight shots. Looked like Stanford got a cramp in her calf...tough duty for the caddie to work it out

Didn't get to watch any of it but it sounds like it's pretty good. Michelle tied for the lead with Angela, Paula and Stacey L hanging in the top ten. Poor Anna Rawson misses the cut, I guess looking good won't trump playing good. :-}

Michelle's swing does look a little different this year.I heard on the telecast during the first round that she has been working with Ledbetter's wife on it during the off season.To me it looks like she has a slower tempo,but appears to be far less erratic. She still has some work to do on her putting,but that also seems to be better.She has sank a few long ones,but she has also missed a few 4 foot putts. I like her chances in the final round,providing that she stays calm and doesn't worry about winning,just shooting well.
