Ok You rotten bastages.
I went to the Chicago golf show today.
Mizuno, Taylor and Tour Edge were the only big names with hitting areas there.
Vulcan Golf was there but I didn't see any SMT demos so they didn't have anything I was interested in.
There were only two folks at the Mizuno booth when I walked up and the guy started to give me the Yada-yada sales pitch.
He asked me what kind of game I had and I asked him what day it was. :-}
I told him honestly that I can shoot anywhere from 75 to 100 depending on the day but tend to stay in the mid to low 80's. I like to work the ball a bit and sometimes have to get creative to score.
Anyway, He set me up to hit 1" long MP52, 57, 62 and 67 irons. They had Project X 5.5 shafts. The hitting area was a mat with the net about 25 yards out.
MP-52 - Very solid feel through the ball, sort of muted in the feedback, a bit thick in the topline.
MP-67 - Again solid but felt a little clanky to me. Nice topline. Felt good hitting knock down but just wasn't there on my full swing.
MP-57/MP-62 - OMFG!!!! These were so close together that I couldn't tell much difference. Will have to get outdoors to pick a winner. Nice thin topline. Good definite feedback. Could feel the ball working. Full shots were butter and knock down was close. Talk about a club that inspires confidence. Damn.... I need to get to an outdoor demo day so I can see if this is real or just wishful thinking.
He handed me an MX-200 to hit and I handed it back after one ball. Way too thick of a topline and absolutely no feedback. Yuck!!!!

You guys were right, these puppies are sweet.

This could be dangerous. :-}

Later,

Well, I know what ya mean !!!! I have two sets right now !!!! And its damn hard not to upgrade !!!!! Ever since I hit my first one I haven't turned back !!! :D :D

Nobody will convince me that "Tiger's" Nike clubs (irons) aren't made to the specs of the Mizuno he use to play either !!! They were, not sure if they still are the #1 iron on tour. I know that doesn't matter to us, but the feel of them as stated IMO are second to none !!!

Someone's nibbling at the hook..................ready to bite...............hope you get some decent weather to hit them outside! If you could have done that today, might have been hook, line and sinker!

After today I think I'm going to need a new set of clubs. We bought into a new place and they own Mandalay Bay here in PV and access to several courses in Cabo. With the ownership, my fee to play...

I have to rent a cart at the going rate of about $35. Same rates applay to all family members. Anyone want to be my bil? You better be nicer to me 8-) :lol:

Unless I want to take up permanent residence in the doghouse hook, line and sinker will have to wait a while. :-}
