I look forward to seeing it, but I do wonder how interesting it is after we have had our full of seeing his current swing. They will get a bunch of laughs combined with his comments, but that could get old real quick. IMO Does Hank have more of a personality than we have seen? Does he have some hot assistant to help him out? LOL I do want to see if Hank can get the job done. Even if Hank has him swinging like Tiger by the show's end, I won't be convinced Charles is completely fixed until I see him in some celebrity golf tourney later in the year.

The "Hot Assistant" would be great, but I have a feeling we will be let down there !!!! It should be pretty interesting IMO. I think we will see that Hank has another side to him and it will add to the show !!! I agree,,,, playing in a celebrity tourney will tell the truth !!!!

Hey Russ !!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Yes, and I think to get him to stop making that move he needs to de-couple his brain from his hands. That's why I think the emphasis on the shoulder turn to take the club back is critical. It minimizes the small muscle movement and focuses the attention on the less twitchy large muscle move of the turn.
The down move needs to continue that connection and deliver the right hip along with the right elbow to the impact zone. IMO: All of this can be done without thinking handsy twitchy muscle movement and decouples his fried brain from his swing......
We'll see how Haney approaches it....but there will be distractions of comedy along the way which should prolong the effort.
Glad to see you here Man.....
Mark
Thanks Mark, Long time no talk, good to see you still lurking around.
The lurch, stop, lunge, hit does look funny and I agree it's his brain that's getting in the way. Uncoupling his brain from his hands may be hard since he's used to controlling his hands with a basketball. I think he'll give him some kind of drill that just has him swinging back and forth with maybe half swings until he gets the urge to lunge at the ball out of his head.
The comedy aspect will bring in the desired viewing demographic but I think most of us can seperate it from the solid teaching that will be going on.
Later,
Russ:
Sure but you can't just tell a student to "quit lurching to hit the ball".....
You have to interrupt the chain of moves that lead to that. That's why I suggested that he minimize the quick twitch muscles by emphasizing the larger muscles in making the turn like he should be doing anyway.
1.) Making the turn with his shoulders makes the hands passive..... 2.) Laying the club off positions the shaft out of that tempting OTT position..... 3.) Being more latent with the release further de-emphasizes the hands by delaying their active moment to the point when they start to enter the strike zone......
At least that's the way I would have laid it out for the dude.
I hope to catch it on one of the reruns.......which I am sure there will be plenty. I think it will be good if they don't try to get too much of the reality stuff in there. Too much stuff on Monday nights......House, 24 and now Barkley....... When we played the other day, we were giving each other the "Barkley" joking about this show  It should be good!
