..................Etta James!
Died of Leukemia over the w/e. Anybody who has ever been to a wedding has heard At Last. (Except our daughter's -said it was over-done so, put it in later in the reception.................) My fondest memory of Etta is "Tell Mama". Last band I played in did a cover of that and it was a blast - literally! We had a 5-man horn line - 2 trumpets, 2 tenor sax's and a trombone. For Tell Mama our keyboard man would switch off to baritone sax. We had 2 singers - guy and girl - and Wanda had the voice for Tell Mama - and loved doing it. Picture in your mind - a rocker like that with 6 mic'd horns goin' all out. Just a wall of sound! Sorry - guess that was a bit braggy, Didn't mean it that way - just trying to say how much fun that song was to play. Tele

Yes, a true treasure. Quite a checkered past.
