Chuck,

You think about his Masters win........and I won't take anything away from him, but I remember Len Matice really shooting himself in the foot on the playoff hole getting himself way out of position. Mike did win.

No question, Mike kind of backed into it but, in the end, he dug down and made one less mistake and won. Sure, I'd love to have seen him pull away and win in reg but, as you said - he won in the end.

I just wondered aloud if he and Lori Kane (from Prince Edward Island) are afflicted with the "nice" gene. I met Lori Kane and she's one of the worlds sweet people but that's been the knock on her on the LPGA Tour ........ has the skill and all the shots but she's too nice. Doesn't have the killer instinct.

Be interesting to see how Mike does this weekend. He's been showing up a little higher on the leader board in the big ones this year.

Cheers
Chuck

I'm a little late to the discussion, but:
1 Francis Ouimet - brought America to the game with a single victory
2 Bobby Jones - A national hero, especially during the Depression
3 Arnold Palmer - came along at the same time as television, and the two worked magic together
4 Gary Player - golf's greatest globetrotter; played, won, and evangelized everywhere.
5 Tiger Woods - in the place of the Crazy Horse statue. Alone, magnificent, and not even finished yet.
