Who will win? Lot of potential winners in this field, except for one. Tiger has zero chance of winning this tourney this year.
1He does not fair well on this course to begin with, with a couple of exceptions of course.
2)He game is not even close to what we expect. If (most likely) he is all over the place like he was a Quail then I see a 2nd straight missed cut in his future.
3)His mental game is non-existent at the moment. THe guy has a ton on his mind and he is human. This stuff is in his head, we have seen him in both Augusta and at Quail have severe lapses of concentration. He also packed it in at both tournies, something I've never seen him do prior to this year.
For the first time ever, I'm benching Tiger from fantasy until he wins again.
I will post again on Wednesday with my pick.

If Phil wins and Tiger doesn't finish in the top 5, we have a new #1. Hard to believe he has never been rated #1 before.

Tiger ,Smiger, i could care less what he does or doesn"t do anymore.Im just not infatuated with him like the rest of the golfing world is .I never have been. The question that begs to go asking is it going to one the young guns again this week such as Kim, Watney Barnes, Villegas, Mcilroy I know im leaving some out or is it going to be the old guard? Michelson Cabrarra, Els, Segio, Furyk Goddos and the gang. Im hoping for youth again this week. I would like to see another of the young guns to get there first victory. Those oldtimers have a have a way of putting me to sleep when i watch them on tv .Its time for youth to make its mark so to speak on tour. That"s the most i got excited in a long time of watching golf on TV. McilRoys run on Sunday was one for the ages i thought. But that"s just the way i see things. Opinions?

Kim is out with a thumb injury. Has been playing with it for at least a month though.

I agree, Roy. There seems to be no passion in Tiger's game. I saw only hi-lights of his Quail Hollow outing but, when he totally blew a shot, (hit it from the rough, over the green and into the water) the body language was sort of "so what" rather than a wedge head buried in the grass after a four-letter stream of rage. Same was true of a 2' putt he missed. Just tapped in the lip-out and walked off.....
Personally, I think the off-course issues are eating his "golf brain" and I think he came back too soon. He's got to get that completely, and finally, fixed - even if it means he and Elin divorce and go their separate ways. He needs to bring closure to this and can't play effectively while all this stuff remains unfinished business.
Now - on to the w/e - I like Phil's chances. His game seems to be there and he's confident in it after the Masters win (expected a bit of a let-down and it didn't happen). If he keeps it in the fairway..............!
JMHO...........Tele

I don't know...he finished 4th at the Masters and then had two bad rounds at Quail Hollow.....where several guys had trouble with high scores. He could come out and win at the Players just as easily as anyone in the field. The course demands some accuracy ; so keeping tee balls in play will be more crucial than the average blast-fest type course. He looked a little ragged at his press conference ( give up on the mustache-goatee thing) , but he will be looking for some redemption this week on the course. He's a wounded animal . He misses his posse and the bevy of bodacious beautilicious bimbos....possibly his "secret" in a perverse Hoganian way. Roy makes a good point about "benching him" ...but he's always dangerous , because he's so good at hitting a golf ball. The Players should be entertaining and the field is the deepest field of the season. The young guns are starting to make more noise , but i think Gary may be a little giddy with the "one for the ages" talk. A great round ; but a secondary tournament with less pressure than a "big tournament" situation. Great stuff though.......Rory is fun to watch. Other than that , what have any of these peach fuzz pukes done. ( EWWWWW..peach fuzz puke...very hard to clean up. ) Big tournament for the Wooden One....we shall see.

This is your brain .........this your brain on golf. So you're saying he needs to issue a stream of invective after every less than perfect shot , or he's no good ??? He is NEVER going to be able to "fix" the scandal thing. Most fans will forgive and forget , but i think he has to deal with the collateral damge. He will never have that level of respect so carefully crafted before the scandal broke. He was the perfect machine. Now ; he's the butt of jokes on late night television. No longer that enigmatic blend of modern day Hogan , coupled with a kind of Nicklausian power and grace. ( Nicklausian ?!? ....hmmmmm...didn't he use "Hoganian" in that earlier post ? ) Now he has to be the reborn Tiger Woods. Too much Woods talk......Gary is right...Tiger ..Smiger . The funny thing is...i enjoy watching him fail....ah ha...haaaa....haaaaaaaaa. ( Twisted comic book hollow laugh... trailing off.)

Still don't see Tiger being close to accurate enough to compete, maybe flirt with the cut, but that's about it. IMO
Anthony Kim is out, he would have had a good chance.

Yeah...i was looking for Kim to do something here. Hard to say ...maybe a Padraig type guy this week. Ernie ?? Can Phil keep it out of the swamp ? Amazing that you think Tiger might not be accurate enough to compete. I agree that THAT would be an accurate statement , given his performance last week , but an amazing statement none the less. Golf is a funny game...it comes and it goes for even the best at times. Right now...i want to bet on Tiger to come out and play like Tiger....but it's a tough call. Phil is not exactly Fred Funk out there either , yet he has been scoring. This course may not allow that kind of play this week. Hey....how bout Fred Funk....he's lurking.

Neither T or P has a win here nor sa sterling record. seems like the "keep it in the fairway" thing might get them here. But Phil is hot, Els has had a nice year so far. Seems suprising the Kim would take this week off with the thumb injury after playing with it for so long. Of course it could be someone like Lonard that comes from nowhere and just keeps it in play to win.
