Before you ask, no, Q-18 has no inside scoop on when Tiger Woods will be back on the course. THE PLAYERS? Maybe. Smart guess would be The Memorial, but that's just a guess. He's being cautious after all his knee issues, but wouldn't you do the same? More to the point, the Achilles tweak is not just an oh-by-the-way. Could cause practice issues, but those protective boots work magic. Realy. If you want to see a great frame-by-frame sequence of the shot where he was injured, check out J.D. Cuban's shots here.
11. And while we're on Tiger ... he took a seriously low-key approach to this year's Tiger Jam. According to Las Vegas Weekly, he hobbled onto the stage in his protective boot for a quick welcome and that was it. No red carpet. No glitz and glam. He did pose for photos with Keith Urban and John Mayer and shot a 60-second charity video.

For the first time because of this latest injury I'm really starting to question if he can pass Jack in majors. It seems like he has put his legs through hell during his golf career and that leg related injuries will become even more common during the next few years. I hope not, but I'm starting to think this may be the case.

He's just setting up the "injury scenario" for Congressional. He has the course wired ; so looking to add a little melodrama to his big comeback win........gosh ...he won AND he was injured.....barely able to hobble around the course and beat those guys anyway !!! Maybe he can break a rib or two before the U.S. Open....." Did you see that shot ! The knee is gone , achilles ready to blow , AND he has two broken ribs !!! " Jordan was the same way....it wasn't enough to be great......he had to be sick or injured too.
He plays GOLF for cryin out loud ! He's always hurt ....and he plays GOLF !!! Not only that ; he doesn't even play golf very often ! How do those guys in the NBA play every other night , while running , jumping over the moon , hitting the floor , and stay in one piece ? Good thing they don't play GOLF ! I won't even mention hockey....oops...i guess i just did. My wrists are STILL hurting ...and i quit playing a month ago. Bobby freakin Orr had better knees than Tiger !
He'll have it all in place for the Open....our Open....no knee...no achilles....probably a head cold or something....but wins it anyway !

Think you have it nailed, he and Jordan are pretty tight. But coming back and winning a major, have to agree with Kevin. His body may fall apart before he wins two more.

I have to disagree with lumping Jordan in there with Tiger. Jordan had ONE game in the finals with a 102 temp and that was it. He only had one serious injury during his career. He also played night in and night out banged up and never complained or mentioned it.

I kinda see Tiger winning several more.....he's too damn good......but golf is a weird game. Didn't mean it as an indictment of Jordan , Roy......tremendous player , but he always came up limping like he was going out of the game and then jumped over somebody with a thunderous dunk 15 seconds later. I remember the fever....and some other stuff.....but he always played out of his mind and he always PLAYED....no doubt about that. Maybe it was the media that set it up ...but there always seemed to be some vague injury he was playing through. Wasn't meant in a real negative way......just something i always noticed about him. Anyhew.......Tiger DOES have a problem with his knee and it is hard to tell whether it will prevent him from getting to his goal , but i hope he plays as long as possible , because he makes tournaments so much better when he's in the mix.

He sure stresses his body when he swings.
Played one of the hardest courses in the state today. Eaglemont. Still pretty wet, lots of plugged balls. played really well except for 5 holes...

Those hard courses are a kick in the teeth. I get on a hard course ( Arthur Hills design ) with my brother every blue moon that has some holes that are really unforgiving. Put some shots together , or it's a double bogey. Nice when you play well enough to make it worth the effort. We play another course ( Pete Dye) that requires some straight driving and solid iron play. You really have to think your way around that course. Fits my game pretty well ( i'm a straight hitter...mostly.) .......hoping to get out there soon.....beat him there last year.
Funny....i played my best round in wet conditions last year on a medium hard course.....and i'm a short hitter. Seems like your game is coming together....keeep it going.

The muni here in the city that I started on is an Arther Hills design. Toughest of the city courses by far. Was amazing, on the 3rd hole yesterday I actually played it strategically and parred it for the first time ever. It's 480 from the whites with the edge of a canyon at about 250 and anothe canyon edge at 375. Hit an iron into the 2nd landing area rather than just blasting and hoping. Missed the green on the approach, chipped to 2' for the par. Scarry!! Still need to get to Chambers Bay, but probably not until fall now.

I probably play strategically to a fault. Not having much power , i look at all par fives as 3 shot holes and where i want to leave it for a solid pitch on some of those long par fours. I've been driving it more regularly in that 250-260+ range this year though..........about a seven iron for that Sadlowski kid ! Another course i have played that would be in the "hard" category is Cougar Canyon in Trinidad , Colorado. A Nicklaus Golf designed course just east of Trinidad and north of the New Mexico border off I-25 . Too much course for me from the back tees ( 7,669 yds) ...even at about 6,000 feet in elevation. The next tees up will give you all you want ...or the tees up from that. Very cool place to play golf and Trinidad is kind of a funky little place to hang out , if you are in that neck of the woods. Amazingly good little 9 hole golf course in Trinidad too...not to be missed if you are driving through.
Chambers Bay.......are they playing the U.S. Open there in 2015 ? Must be a bear......don't let the young guys make you play from the back. :0)
