What do you think he will say?? Will his apology come off as sincere? Will he come across as controlled and un-forthcoming as he does in all his other interviews??
This should be interesting!!
Fewparz, my bad for starting the same topic. I had started my topic and sent out a mass email to all members about the topic, then I noticed that you started the same topic. I merged the two topics together so it will not confuse all. Sorry about that.

Interesting that he is trying to limit the size of the circus already.

I think he is going to make some very brief comments, then he will return to golf and never say another word about it.

at 11:00am(ET) Friday morning!!!
What is he going to say? Does he mention anything about past behavior or is he just announcing that he is coming back? What do you think, do you even care? Let's discuss.

I think he again apologizes for what he has done to Elin, his family and the game of golf. He will also mention that he has gotten help and that him and Elin are working on things. He will be back for the Masters.

He will announce he is returning to golf. He will say he is sorry for the problems he caused for family and friends . All will be forgiven and he will come back to destroy a Tour that is amazingly devoid of ANY star players except for the great Tiger Woods. He will probably play a Florida swing tournament or two ..........but it IS possible he would wait until Augusta. The Masters is more of a controlled atmosphere ; so maybe it would be the perfect place to start up again. He also likes to create as much melodrama as possible , so a win at the Masters would go long way right now. Some kind of injury would be a nice touch. Maybe a knee flare-up or rumors of a touchy back ailment. Get the focus on something other than the floosie thing.
It will be the perfect opportunity for a Mickelson or SOMEBODY to play great golf and win a Masters with Tiger in the field and huge television ratings. Should be really fun.

I read where Ernie Els called Woodrow selfish for having his "announcement" on a Friday during the Accenture Matchplay. There was already some scuutlebutt that Woody's timing was designed to give the needle to Accenture because they were the first sponser to drop Woods. Typical of Woodrow.......he IS a selfish spoiled brat of a man ......but he can play golf better than anyone "else" .......no pun intended.

Sure interesting listening to all the talk from the "experts". Everything from retirement to Doral. Probably will be a very bland statement saying we are working on things.

I still can't figure the timing..............why this Friday unless he is coming back now??? I understand the thing with the sponsor, but it would not shock me for him to say that he is playing next week in Phoenix......and make it a real circus!
I expect him to apologize for what he has done to his family and friends and acknowledge that he is getting help. He will stress that this is a private matter for his family and that is the reason for no questions.......... He will also state that once he returns he will not take any questions about the matter while he and his family continue to work things out. I wonder if Elin will be there??
The "experts" will prolly blast him stating that this was a prepared statement and while he seemed sincere, this was an controlled enviorment. The Golf Writers Assoc is already boycotting the event.........What a bunch of dolts!

I thought he was sincere and i hope things can work out for he and his family. I had hoped he would play golf this spring , but it looks like he is making a sincere effort to change his life. If he can come back with a new attitude and become a better man ; then i'm in his corner. We all have , maybe , jumped the track a little bit in life. When you have people bowing and scraping and telling you how great and wonderful you are..........it just might be easy to forget what is important in life. ( I have a long story about being a workaholic who got really tied up with business and ignored his family too much ; but i won't go into that. ) I thought his comment on respecting the game more was important. That's what has made me so critical of Tiger Woods. His attitude on the course and the imperious nature of his relationship with the press and the audience. I have been too critical. I apologize to the board and to all those members that look up to me and wait impatiently for one of my highly entertaining and enlightened missives. What did you folks think ?
