Tiger working hard, talks babies and Obama By GolfChannel.com Team
Tiger Woods has been working hard with swing coach Hank Haney, and while he says his leg is as strong as ever, his “golf stamina” is not quite there yet, according to Tigerwoods.com. "I'm full-bore with my practice sessions and have no restrictions; it's just a matter of getting my golf endurance up. I don't have my golf stamina back yet," said Woods on his Web site. "Many people have asked me if my swing has changed since the surgery, and the answer is no. I'm doing all the things I've been trying to do for a long time, but I can actually hit into my left leg without my bones moving. … It is so much better than it ever has been because my bones aren't grinding against each other," added the world’s No. 1. Woods discussed the impending birth of his second child, which is due sometime next week, saying that would have a major impact on when he returns to action. "As for my comeback to the PGA Tour, a lot depends on the baby, which is due pretty soon. That takes precedent over anything I do golf-wise,” he said. “Elin, Sam and I are very excited for the new baby to arrive, although that's when the real lack of sleep begins." Woods also talked about his recent visit to Washington, D.C., and his meeting with newly-elected President Barack Obama. "It was such an honor to be invited and be a part of history and to speak about something that means so much to me, our men and women in the military. He was very busy, so we didn't get to talk much … I did ask him if he wanted to play golf and he said, 'I'd love to.' So we'll make it happen."

Who cares ....either play or shut up. I don't know how he expects to beat the Great Phil Mickelson when he gets back. In fact......who DOES HE HAVE OUT THERE TO BEAT ???? The answer is _________________? Maybe that tall skinny kid who just won at Torrey Pines. No great players in Tiger's generation...............except Tiger. How bad is Phil Mickelson ? Ernie.....done. Vijay....old. Furyk....not good enough. Garcia....still young...can he putt ?? Villegos...plays well then disappears .....needs to win a big one. Padraig......he had a big year ....can he win another major this season ? .......i doubt it. Of these players , only Phil Ernie and Vijay have any kind of playing record ....maybe Padraig . The answer is....nobody. There are no great players . Tiger is occasionally challenged by journeymen having a hot tournament , while the top guys are not even on the first page of the leaderboard. Phil could not be more pathetic. He has a lot of "give-up" in him. He playing like a guy who is not interested. He said he's rusty. He's rusty because he's lazy. He needs to get all that swing theory out of his head. Pelz has ruined his putting. Pelz makes putting seem like calculus. Just the wrong thing for Phil. Did he even break par yet ? Great player ...my ass ! Anthony Kim....is he hurt? How are all these guys getting hurt playing golf ? Was Sam Snead hurt all the time? He was hitting it 300 yards with an old persimmon driver and a...what....a Spaulding Dot ? These guys are cream puffs. Get out there and play......you are twenty something and you play golf!!!!!!!! The young guns suck. There are no young guns. Does Adam Scott even play golf anymore ? Villegos goes through his little spiderman thing. The guy is known for the way he reads a flooking green fer chrissakes. Win any big tournaments ? "Not yet....but i can get really low to the ground to read my putts." If i hear another expose on his workout routine....i'm gonna puke. He swings way too hard at the ball. He will be another guy on that injury list. Kenny Perry is a better player than most of these guys....and he's almost fifty ! Tiger will come back to beat all these "greats" and you guys will drone on about how his leg nearly fell off and look how good he is out there beating Bob May or somebody , while Phil and his pals are in 30th place or on the injury list. Just thought i'd be a ray of sunshine and spruce up your monday morning.

"Not yet....but i can get really low to the ground to read my putts." I don't even consider the BMW and the Tour Championship legitimate tourneys at all, much less "big tournaments." Winning both in the same year? SO WHAT?? Who was his competition? Tiger wasn't even there, so they really don't count as legitimate wins. Sorry, Camillo, that's just the way it is.

Well JJ, you have just said the same thing that most say when they are comparing eras of great players. There are no great players that stand out in this era EXCEPT Tiger. Jack was the man and look at those great players in THAT era!

We know we can count on JJ to get things back in perspective. :-}
The right answer is "Everyone and Noone". Everyone gives him the reality check and noone is the challenger. Do we really think the John Rollins and Nick Watneys of the world are ready to take the reins and advance the PGA tour? It's almost like the "Top" players have lost interest without Tiger there to donate to. I agree Phil is pathetic, He is supposed to "own" Torrey Pines and yet he couldn't bust a grape. Is it Pelz fault? I could argue that but I won't. It takes two to tango and Phil sure didn't look like he was ready for a ballroom blitz. Oh well, on to Pebble and another mediocre tournament.
Later,

I guess my point is..........who will be looked at as Tiger's great foes when it's all said and done ? Phil may have another 6 or 7 years to make hay , but is he going to challenge Tiger in majors or ANY tournament for that matter. There were several challengers to Nicklaus in his era who stole major tournaments from him. Trevino , Watson , and the Gary Player were all guys who "showed up" to play . Tiger does not have guys like that to beat. The supposed great players of this era do not show up on saturday and sunday. What will their playing record look like compared to players of the past ?
Of course ; there are many young guys coming up who hit it a mile and won't just throw their hands up in defeat when they come up against Tiger. Tiger didn't play most of last season and we saw one guy step forward to make it known he was staking his claim..........Padraig Harrington. Padraig might surprise the golf world and win another 5 or 6 majors in the coming years. He hangs in like grim death in tough tournaments.......unlike Phil.
Tiger deserves to have great players....ON THE LEADERBOARD...to vanquish down the stretch.
