The following views are solely the view of Bradley27 who gave me the permission to post them here.

hi mate, how are you? Long time. You certainly know what to say to push my buttons and I'll try to get over there but its finding the time as I'm one of those impossible people who are like a dog with a bone. Once I'm in, I cant just make one point, I have to keep fighting the cause....lol

As for Obama I cant help feeling you are going through what we went through with Blair. We all thought, even Tony supporters, that there was a need to "change" and felt the time was right. But in truth, if anything he let us down moreso, because we had such high hopes. And then to basically join in on an illegal war that has made the world a more dangerous place on the back of lies (I do not believe for one minute it was a mistake), is unforgivable and basically ended his leadership. Although I believe he and Bush should have ended their time defending themselves in the international courts for war crimes. I accept all politicians bend the truth and spin, they need to mainly because the public cant actually handle the truth, but one area you should never lie is sending your country into war. Shame on them.

As for the US Election, I was kind of dissappointed in some of the behaviour of the Democrats, especially early on. I dont know about you but I tend to feel worse when its the side I agree with are doing the stuff that the other side usually gets rightly criticised for. It feels worse because I want my side to be better than that. I didnt like the way they treated McCain, a man the left has always accepted as a reasonable Republician, yet at the start they were belittling his war record and shows like The Daily Show, which I love, suddenly started to attack him. Maybe its because in this country once an election is called, TV and radio are not allowed to show any bias in any programmes be they news or entertainment.

Also I didnt like the way they attacked Palin at first. later when she gave them more than enough ammunition then it was fair enough as it was about policies, etc, but I thought the left was above all the stuff they did at first. I didnt like the fact that although I think hunting is wrong, why they made so much fuss about her hunting, when plenty of the male candidates hunted. To me it seemed sexist. Why is it a talking point moreso when its a female hunter rather than a male one. And I didnt like the way they started to attack her through her family, especially her young pregnant daughter. Thats the tactic of the far right under Bush, not from the left.

As for Obama I dont see why people got worked up about a tagline "Change". Its hardly original concept and its only a word and judging by the level of parties and the cost of them next week, when most of your country and the rest of the world are in such deep economic crisis, strikes me as a poor example.

However saying all that, I wanted him to win, but I wasnt fearful of McCain either and I feel he was tarnished by Bush's legacy. Even when it was down to those two and Hillary, it was at a point where I felt that any of the three were OK with me. I might disagree with most of McCains political views, but know him as a man of fairness who will always try to do the right thing, whether it be a right wing policy or a left one. I was just dissappointed that the Left seemed to feel, particularly at first, when it was neck and neck, that they should besmirch him.

See I told you I go on. Anyway thats my thoughts, and I'm too tired to check for spelling mistakes and if it makes sense. Hopefully it does.

Speak soon
Bradley

I thought the same................a lot has already been on the board in our little Political folder. I'm sure it will get better....based on all the talk we've heard.

I noticed that too, seems to be fairly early on though.

Some school districts around here are making kids get parent premission to watch it. CYA
