Well, we got shutout. Tickets were $55, $95 and $175 and by the time I got in they were gone. Now the $50 tickets are $250 in the aftermarket.
I apologized to the wife but we're not going to pay $500+ for a night in Wrigley Field. Not even for Elton and Billy.
Oh well, Better luck next time.

Later,

Sorry to hear that D. That sucks!
There's something afoot about ticket sales.... Ticket Master is under fraud investigation by Feds on both sides of the 49th for artificially selling out early and redirecting customers to an affiliate company, that they just happen to own, where the prices are up to 500% higher. Springstien just lambasted them in the press when he found out one of his recent concerts was affected and, in effect, said he won't deal with them anymore. NOt good to have The Boss ticked at you............

Pretty sure he owns ticketmaster. It's terrible what they charge. We usually just go to the event site or their web page and don't pay the service charge. But now the M's are going to start charging extra for walk-up ticket sales. I guess they didn't realize that they lost 101 games last year and made no significant changes to the team this year.

Story I read was that people would sit on the Web site, ready to hit "go" and, then, get in in the first 10 seconds but all 30,000 tickets were gone. They'd get a message that the tickets Ticket Master had were gone and be directed to another site on the possibility there were some tickets there. That site has now been identified as belonging to a company that is wholly owned by Ticket Master. And, yeah - they had tickets............at scalper prices!!!!!!!!!!!
That's why the FBI and RCMP are asking some very nasty questions of these people.
