OK, about 12 or so days to the start, who do you think will win this thing?
-Azinger has tried to bill the American's as underdogs.
-He made some good solid, and "maybe" a couple surprising picks.
-Of course, Tiger is not there, and everyone will have to listen to every commentator talk about that!
-Faldo picks two Brits, overlooking a couple of "recent" winners on the European side.
-They have a couple of unknowns on the team, is Oliver Wilson a household name? (But he is a very good golfer)
-They are playing in Kentucky, which to me MAYBE balances the field a little.
Bottom line, I think I will pick with my heart instead of my head and say the US squeaks this thing out, barely. What do you think and why?

Darn good question !!!! But, I am also going with the "Heart" pick !!! Will be backing our guys to get that Cup back 100% !!!!!
Now, in reality I really think our players will have to get a good start and have several really turn hot to get this done. It will depend on if they can put good rounds back to back. No streaky golf needed here !!!

Unless Tiger shows up and gives a pep talk (speech) that will be remembered for the ages, the Euros will win again. I hope I'm wrong. Man,,, your busting my "Bubble" already !!!!! LOL Your right, the "Heart" pick will come back and bite !!!! Your comments are 100% true, they do seem to have that "Team Concept", but for now I am in my little world of "WE WIN" !!!!

I hate to disagree , but I don't see Tiger as a motivational individual of others. He is INDEED self motivated, but as for others, a dud IMO. The Euro's are stronger on paper, perhaps a closer "team" but, they are playing in corn-tucky, and there are a "lot" of younger US players that just "might" have more of that team atmosphere. I will gladly pull the pants down so the bite can take place. Score right now, US - 2, Europe - 1

Tiger does have many friends or at least players that he gets along real well with on that team, with Phil being the obvious one who what not be included on that list. Tiger has never had the opportunity as an outsider to be the person to deliver motivation. I think that you are underestimating him and would be shocked at what he the #1 player in the world could say to motivate the troops. Yeah, their are younger guys on this US team, but I still have not seen a hint that they will be more of team players. The younger guys if any had not had to paw and scratch to make a living like the older vets have when they were younger.

IMO, I would have to agree that a "Motivation Speech" by Tiger would go a long way. I really don't think he will attend the event, but if he did talk with them I really think the way he is respected by most of the players would give them a push to win.!!! Just my .02 !!!!

Maybe I am off base, I just don't see him in that role, perhaps because he has not done it in the past that we have heard about. Tiger is a GREAT, or the Greatest to have ever played this game. My feeling about the younger players is that they are a little closer to their college golf, or Walker Cup experiences than some of the older guys so again, IMO, they may bond or be more familiar with the team atmosphere a little quicker. I would love to see Tiger deliver a great talk to the team and have it fire them up to win!

I hope you are right about the younger guys because that would make a huge difference. As for Tiger, no one has seen it yet, but there really has not been an opportunity until now were it was really important for Tiger to step up and make a motivational impact. I sort of agree with what Earl Woods use to tell us. Tiger will make an impact in this world that is just not just limited to golfing. As he matures slowly, you can sort of see great things in Tiger's future if he chooses. Golf will open many doors for him and I think he will take advantage of this and do good for the world. It could be politics, charitable causes or whatever, but people will rally to his cause and listen to the guy. IMO

I agree, he will do great things for the world, he is in the position to be able to do so. The TWLC is a perfect example, where he has done some great things for a lot of people and their communities. I have not seen the motivational part yet, but even in the TWLC, you have seen the compassion and Love that Earl talked about.
Hope you are right!
